Top speeds of cars for Scalextric layouts vary, which is half the fun of racing! You never know which car is the fastest until the winner crosses the finish line.
Scalextric cars average around 10mph out of the box. But there are ways you can make your slot cars faster. You can sand the axles, oil the motor, adjust the braid and upgrade the tyres. You can also add a small weight to lower the Scalextric slot car’s centre of gravity. But again, you won't know how effective your efforts are until you put that model to the test!
