Scalextric partners with BTCC star Jake Hill

We are delighted to announce that we will partner ROKiT MB Motorsport with West Surrey Racing BMW driver, Jake Hill, for this year's 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Hill will form part of a strong three-car team of BMW 330e M Sport machines, run by 15 times BTCC Champions West Surrey Racing, alongside Colin Turkington and Stephen Jelley, continuing our long-running association with the team, something Simon Owen, Scalextric Head of Brand is particularly proud of.

“I’ve known Jake for a while now, having followed his career with interest as a Kent-based driver.  We’ve produced his 2017 VW Passat and his 2020 Honda Civic Type-R BTCC models, so already had a great relationship with him, and I know what an enthusiastic collector he is of the brand. He has now become one of the top drivers in the BTCC, and joining West Surrey Racing gave us another reason to work with Jake, as we’ve done so with the team and their drivers for some time now. On top of that Jake’s reputation as one of the stars in the Historic scene, highlighted by his brilliant win in the Ford Capri at Goodwood last year, means he is representing us to a wonderfully varied and passionate group of fans. It’s a really exciting partnership”

Hill himself has been a fan of Scalextric since childhood and cites his collection of A1 Grand Prix models from the early 2000s as some of his particular favourites.

“Like lots of kids, I had a Scalextric set from a very young age ‘cos my Dad was a huge fan - and he still is! Then as I got more interested in motor racing I started getting more cars for Christmas and Birthdays, but the A1 Grand Prix cars were particularly cool because my Dad worked with the series, so I have all of them signed by the drivers. It’s funny to think I now get people asking me to sign the models of my BTCC  cars. I  just love how incredibly accurate the detailing of the cars are, every single logo is spot-on! Hopefully, they may produce my 2022 BTCC car and even some of the Historic cars like the Capri. I am incredibly proud to be representing Scalextric and can’t wait to work with Simon and the team throughout the season.”

We can’t wait to follow Jake’s progress in his BMW 330e M Sport throughout the 2022 BTCC season and at Goodwood, Spa-Francorchamps and beyond!

To celebrate we are giving away Jake’s Scalextric 2020 Honda Civic Type-R signed by Jake himself! Simply visit our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for multiple entries.
