What’s so exciting about 24 Hours of Le Mans?
This famous endurance race lasts 24 hours (hence the name) and the winner is the driver who gets the furthest in that time. Three drivers take turns to race in that time, so it is effectively an endurance relay, relying on teamwork and driving ability across some very tricky sections of track.
Since 1923, more than 250,000 spectators have flooded Le Mans every year to watch some very special hypercars whizz around the city. That’s why so many of these vehicles end up as Scalextric slot cars – they truly are some of the most amazing vehicles in the world.
